Skincare Overhaul | Part 2

Happy Saturday!

It is finally time for the second installment of my skincare overhaul/ journey. You can read the first post here, where you can read more about my early years skincare woes, and gain a better understanding of the changes occurring.

To recap slightly, after introducing the previous five skincare products into my routine, my skin was more oily, less dehydrated, mild milia, reduced scarring, reduced appearance of fine lines, when compared to before the start of this journey.

Here are the next five products that have been added into my routine since my last post.

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask – I have used this mask three or four times now, and don’t really feel like it does much, I don’t notice a difference in my pores. Thoughts?

Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer – This product is amazing! My skin has been less oily throughout the day since using this. It smells like orange candies or something. It’s awakening and refreshing on the skin.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion – I believe this product has made the biggest change in my acne out of everything I’ve ever tried. Since adding this to my routine, I don’t have any active breakouts except during ‘that time of the month’. This has already been featured in a favourites post. I use this every second night if my skin is ‘clear’, and every night when I have a breakout. It is a salicylic acid toner, and does leave my skin quite red, but it goes away once I’ve finished my skincare routine.

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Infusion Treatment Toner – I alternate this product with the Clinique one, as mentioned above. The product is in a lovely heavy glass bottle. The next morning after using this my skin is more radiant, and smooth. This product claims to do a lot, and so far I am impressed my this. I may post a full review soon. So far, it is worth the hefty price tag.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light – If there was one area that my skincare was seriously lacking, it was SPF. With my oily skin, I need something that will not leave me looking like a greasy mess after application, which all others I’ve tried did. Before I would only put SPF on my face on beach days, or when it was in my foundation. This product sinks into the skin so quickly, and doesn’t leave my skin greasy. The light weight formula allows makeup to glide over the top easily.

Since integrating these products into my routine, my skin is now less oily, fewer breakouts, and more redness.

My skincare journey is far from over but I will continue to share the new products I’m trying out here on the blog. Please leave your recommendations in the comments. Also, if you’d like a more comprehensive review on any of these products, I’d be more than happy to do that for you.
Emily ♥
