January Ipsy Bag | 2017

The first Ipsy bag of 2017. I was expecting another knock-out bag, but this month left me wanting more. The theme this month is Metropolis. I love the sporty vibe of the bag this month, the metallic mesh overlay reminds me of the 90s for some reason.

Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Mask – I love a good deep cleansing mask once a week, more if I’m breaking out really bad. This claims to draw out dirt and impurities, peel away dead skin cells, restore elasticity, and fortify with essential moisturizers. It’s strange for this type of mask to claim to be moisturizing, so I’m excited to give this a try soon.

Pretty Woman Nail Polish in I’m Not A Ballerina – I’ve been receiving a lot of nail polishes in subscription boxes lately, which isn’t always a bad thing, but I don’t have time to try all of them. This polish is basic light pink shade, nothing unique. I feel this shade would be better suited to the spring months. I noticed the name is not on the actual bottle, only on the cardboard packaging which sucks, but in the end, really isn’t that important.

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lip Gloss in Method To The Madness – This winter, I’ve been wearing a lot more gloss because my lips have been so dry that matte lip products look atrocious. This gloss feels quite sticky, but is a beautiful sheer peachy pink shade.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream in Light – I’ve tried this product before – spoiler alert: it’s going to appear in a disappointing products soon. I’ll go into more detail about why I don’t like it in that post. Needless to say, I’m not a fan and will pass this on to someone more suited to it.

Pacifica Blushious Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color in Wild Rose – Pacifica has the tackiest packaging sometimes, but in the cutest way possible. I freaking love the unicorn! This blush is aptly named, it’s a deep rose shade, and there is definitely a glow factor – but it’s not shimmery. It doesn’t swatch the best on my hand, but that doesn’t mean it will look bad on the cheeks. I find blush product hard to do justice in a swatch.

I will try 4/5 of the products this month; not too excited about the nail polish in terms of shade but I love trying new formulas. The BB cream was a dud for me personally, but Smashbox is a fabulous brand to receive. What did you receive in your bag this month?

Emily ♥
