  • ColourPop Haul | KathleenLights Collab & More

When ColourPop sent out the email promoting their amazing Labour Day sale, I immediately jumped online to place an order. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to pick up the latest ColourPopxKathleenLights products, and because I patiently bided my time, I got two free Ultra Matte Lips which is a fabulous deal! Crème Gel Liner in Mr. Bing – Ever since these liners launched I’ve wanted to try them [I feel like I say that about every ColourPop launch], especially the bright shades. I picked up Mr. Bing to try out the formula first before I went all crazy and bought ten shades. Mr. Bing is a beautiful warm…

  • Sephora VIB Sale Haul | April 2016

Finally! My online Sephora order took forever to get to me. I picked up two of these items in store, and ordered in the other three online. I’ve been wanting to get this post up for you guys since the sale ended, but, like I said, I just received my products. Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian – Lately, I’ve been reaching for lip glosses a lot more than I have in years. I wanted a great pinky nude gloss to add to my collection, one that wasn’t too sticky. There’s nothing I hate worse than my hair getting stuck in lip gloss. I find the cooling sensation really…

  • ColourPop Haul | April 2016

When ColourPop recently hit 2 million ‘ColourPopettes’ they were giving away a limited edition lippie stix with every order while supplies lasted. I thought it was the perfect time to try some of their newer products I’ve never used before as a free lipstick offset the cost of shipping in my mind. I picked up one shade of each product I wanted to try most, to test out the formula before I bought a ton of shades, which we all know is going to happen. [L-R: Lumière 2, Smokin’ Whistles, Magic Wand, Poppin] Lippie Stix in Poppin – I have been a fan of ColourPop’s lipstick formula for quite some…

  • Beauty Haul | Drugstore, ColourPop & Sephora

Hey guys! Miss me? I haven’t posted in about a week and a half. Long story short, midterm exams happened, and I’ve officially launched a YouTube channel to work as a complement to this blog! So, if you’d like to see similar content that you’ve been reading here, but in video format, check out my channel emilynmax, and please do subscribe and give lots of feedback! Editing is much harder than I had ever anticipated, I’m still trying to master just cutting out clips and stitching them back together. Anyway, that was a bit of an update for you. I’ve linked below my most recent video, which is a big…

  • Let’s Start a Pro Palette | Mac Haul

If you read my What I Got For Christmas post, you’d know I received a Mac gift card from my in-laws. I deliberated on which products I wanted to pick up for a long time, because Mac is so expensive for me. I had never owned any of the iconic Mac eyeshadows before, and thought this was the perfect opportunity to pick some up. I decided to start a pro palette, so I bought the large pro palette along with the 15 pan eyeshadow insert. I picked up four shades to start; charcoal brown, nylon, amber lights, and all that glitters. I chose these shades because I knew I would…

  • What I Got For Christmas | 2015

Today I would like to share with you a handful of the gifts I received for Christmas. I’ve chosen items that I thought were relevant to what we normally talk about here at emilynmax. I will do my best to keep descriptions brief, and am open to full review suggestions in the comments. This Christmas I received a ton of LUSH products, which I’m super excited to use. I’ve photographed a few above, but not all. Golden Wonder bath bomb – which is covered in gold glitter, and contains a turquoise surprise inside.Celestial Moisturizer – formulated for sensitive skin.Love and Light Hand Cream –  This smells incredible!Buffy Body Butter –…

  • Sephora VIB Sale Haul | November 2015

I was beyond excited to finally be eligible for the VIB sale at Sephora, as this was my first year as a VIB. I set myself a limit of 5 items, so I wanted to ensure they were all products I have been wanting for ages, and that were highly rated in the beauty community. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser – I have used up a couple cleansers and was in need of something new to try. This claims to remove all makeup and deep clean pores, which is definitely what I need. I like a cleanser that is gentle, yet still cleans my skin well. I will update in…

  • Drugstore Haul | October 2015

Much like the items in my last haul, these have been waiting around for awhile. I’ve been picking these up here and there for the last month, and am pretty happy with the items I’ve used so far! The two nail polish purchases are heavily inspired by Kathleen Lights. OPI in It’s a Piazza Cake from the fall Venice collection is the nail polish version of Ofra liquid lipstick in Miami Fever, which I also have and love. Essie in Leggy Legend, also from their fall 2015 collection, is a beautiful metallic bronze with a bit of gold and green reflects. Both polishes are stunning for fall, and all I’ve…

  • Skincare Overhaul | Part 2

Happy Saturday! It is finally time for the second installment of my skincare overhaul/ journey. You can read the first post here, where you can read more about my early years skincare woes, and gain a better understanding of the changes occurring. To recap slightly, after introducing the previous five skincare products into my routine, my skin was more oily, less dehydrated, mild milia, reduced scarring, reduced appearance of fine lines, when compared to before the start of this journey. Here are the next five products that have been added into my routine since my last post. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask – I have used this mask three…
