Review | Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Frizz Defy
I’ve been using this hair oil for about two months, and I thought I’d share my opinion.
To start, the packaging is quite nice. I love the bright orange bottle (it’s my favourite colour), and the pump gives the perfect amount of product to where it doesn’t leave your hair greasy with one pump. The bottle is made from a thin(ish) plastic, and I feel that if you dropped it from any height, it may crack open – now that would be an awful mess!
This product claims to be a “treatment for frizzy, unruly hair, with custom-blended Amla & Jojoba oil, smooths and tames frizz.”
Now, my hair is not what I’d call unruly, but it does get frizzy living so close to the ocean, and I feel that this product does tame the frizz. To tame the frizz I apply one pump through the lengths of my hair and style as usual.
However, the main purpose I like to use this product for is to smooth my split ends and restore softness. It has been a very long time since I’ve gone in for a haircut, and this product has allowed me to extend this even more by keeping my split ends from breaking further up the strands.
For a deeper treatment, I will apply two pumps throughout my hair a few hours before I wash it, and twist it up in a tight bun. Afterwards, my hair is incredibly soft again.
No this product is not a miracle worker by any means, it has not completely restored my hair from the damage it’s sustained through the years, but I do feel that my hair is healthier and has extended the time between necessary haircuts. If you’re looking to tame frizz, want your hair to feel softer, or are looking to grow out your hair, I would recommend this product.
There are also two additional Marvelous Oils in this line, Deep Nourish and Color Illuminate, which you can read about on the website.
I picked my bottle up for 50% off because they changed the packaging slightly (you can see the difference between my picture and the website), so you may still be able to get that deal as well. You can purchase this here, or at your local drugstore or supermarket.
Hope this was helpful for some of you!
