September Favourites

September was a month of adjustments. I went back to university full-time for my fourth year. I have been juggling work, school, blog, and motherhood, all while remaining mostly sane! September has been a great month overall, I’ve discovered a ton of great products, my skin is mostly under control, knock on wood, and I’ve been killing the dark lip trend. September is my favourite month of the year, and am sad to say goodbye for another year, but with any luck October will be great too! Side note: I still need to decide on Halloween costumes for myself and Maxwell.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion – This acid toner has done wonders for my skin! Besides ‘that time of the month’, I have had no active breakouts. It is a bit harsh, so I only use it every other day if my skin is behaving to maintain clear skin, and everyday to combat a breakout. I will dive into more details in an upcoming skincare post.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows in Cocoa Bear and Crème Brulee – I’ve posted a first impressions and swatches post including these shadows, and have been using them ever since. The formula is so smooth and blendable. I’ve been wear Crème Brulee all over the lid, with Cocoa Bear in the crease for an everyday ultra warm look, perfect for fall.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 – I bought this lipstick because of Zoe Sugg, and am not disappointed. This shade is the perfect deep red, cool tone, blue based, with a purple twist. It wears well, even through eating and drinking. The matte formula is a bit drying but I look past it for the longevity of the product, and drying lip products don’t tend to bother me too much.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess – I’ve been using bronzers with a tiny amount of shimmer in it, to liven up my skin again, especially because the slight tan I may have had is definitely gone. I’ve been reaching for this one all month, because of the slightly cool undertone. It appears less obvious, and keeps it from getting muddy looking. I also have the non-waterproof version of this bronzer, and I’m not sure why but it is more warm than this and has more shimmer, even though they have the same shade name. Anyone else notice this?

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – I’ve been loving this for applying my Too Faced Born This Way foundation. It blends it seamlessly onto my skin, and keeps it from looking heavy.
