Empties | Products I’ve Used Up

After stating in my last empties post, that I’d be doing them monthly… I skipped last month. Oops. In my defense, I only finished around 3 products, so I didn’t feel it would be worth sharing. Over the last two months I have finished 7 beauty products.

Body

LaVanila The Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla – After seeing this product featured in one of Kathleen Lights favourites videos, I had remembered I received a sample in my Ipsy bag. This smells like a grown up version of a sweet vanilla scent, so yummy. It was incredibly hydrating and is made with all natural ingredients. I would definitely repurchase.

LaVanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla – I think I got this sample size in a Sephora Favourites set last year. I was trying to use products that were better for my skin, but a natural deodorant just doesn’t quite do the trick. The scent was not the same as the body butter either. All the oils in the product seeped out, getting all over my dresser, and left the product inside dry and crumbly, but I used it all anyway. This was only effective on days you had not much to do, a lay around the house day. I wouldn’t recommend this.

Secret Destinations Collection Deodorant in Hawaii Citrus Breeze – I’m only including this as a comparison to the LaVanila one. This smells lovely, and worked great. However, is says it is invisible, but it would get on my clothes if I put deodorant on before getting dressed, or I changed outfits.

Hair, Makeup, Skincare

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Original – Another empties post, another Batiste. This was my holy grail dry shampoo, until a new love came into my life. Check out my recent drugstore haul to see the new kid in town. This dry shampoo is still amazing, and I have already repurchased.

Maybelline Shiny-Licious Lip Gloss in 60 Strawberry Tart – We went out for an unplanned dinner out one night last week, so I quickly threw on some makeup, and was digging through my lip glosses to rediscover this. However, we I dug it out, I noticed it was all separated and smelled a little weird. God knows how long I’ve had this floating around but it time for it to go. Also, by the looks of the Maybelline website, they don’t even sell this anymore, yuck.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream – The moisturizer was fabulous for my skin last winter, but I made the mistake of continuing to use it through the spring, into the hotter months. I would not recommend people with oily skin use this, but it is a great product, and I would repurchase if I struggle with dry patches again this winter.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black – This felt tip pen has a very long thin point. I loved using this for nights out, because I knew it wouldn’t budge. But, the tip started to fray a bit near the end, making the line not as sharp as I wanted, the formula was getting a bit streaky, so I think it expired. I would repurchase in the future, but not right now.
