Morphe’s in Sephora Canada!
The ever popular, affordable makeup brand, Morphe, has now reached Sephora Canada, albeit online only for most of us, and with a smaller product range than available on their site. They will be launching in 15 stores Canada-wide.
Last year, Morphe entered Ulta stores across the border, in the U.S., which fans of the brand were very excited about as it seemed to be a good fit.
I’ve seen a lot of negative feedback on Twitter about this. People feel that Morphe and Sephora are not a good match, and that they’ll be gone again after the holidays. Similar to what we saw happening with ColourPop last year.
My opinion? This is a great idea. Perhaps not the best fit, I will admit. I think I would have expected them to go into Shopper’s Drug Mart if I were to have guessed which Canadian beauty retailer they would enter.
However, having ordered from the Morphe website in the past, and being surprised with a hefty customs charge at my door to receive my package, I’m pleased to see I can avoid that by ordering from Sephora. It was the same issue with Ulta, you had to pay customs. Also, spend over $100CAD to get free shipping, whereas at Sephora, it’s $50CAD.
Think they’re overcharging? That’s just the exchange rate folks.
I am excited to FINALLY get my hands on the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette (the original), try a few more of their brushes, and maybe the setting mist, I’m intrigued by the aerosol can.
What are your thoughts? Will you be purchasing any products?
