Top 5 | Blushes

Another new series happening on the blog, my ‘Top 5’ series. Today we’re talking blushes!

Blush is one of those products I just seem to accumulate, even though if asked, I would not say it is one of my favourite beauty products, yet I have a ton of it. These five blushes are the ones I’ve been reaching for consistently over all others in my collection.

Revlon in Naughty Nude – This blush is my number 1! It goes with every single look imaginable. It reminds me a lot of Nars Douceur, which I don’t own. In the pan, it looks like nothing special, even swatched (below), as it is exactly as the name suggests, a nude shade. But, because it is nude it doesn’t clash with a bright lip, or smokey eye, etc. It also adds a slight, healthy glow to the cheeks, in a non-shimmery way.

Milani Baked in Luminoso – A cult classic, and my second most worn blush. This shade is described  as a luminous peach. Though I wear this year-round, it definitely gets the most love in the summer, as it is so glowy. When using this blush, on an everyday basis, I don’t feel the need to add a highlight as well.

Maybelline Mineral Power in True Peach – Though this particular product has been discontinued, I wanted to share it anyway. I feel that many people pass by many mineral or loose powder blushes. This vibrant, coral peach blush is so long-wearing! To apply, using a light hand, I take what product has been left in the lid of the container, because it is so pigmented. Because you are using so little product, it will last forever, as you can see in the top picture, I have had this product since it was new on the market, and it is now discontinued, it has been many years and it still looks like I haven’t used it.

[L-R: Naughty Nude, Luminoso, True Peach, Melba, Orgasm]

Mac in Melba – My first Mac blush has remained a firm favourite in my collection. This soft matte peach shade goes so well with my warm complexion. I am inclined to think that this shade is suitable to so many skin tones because it looks great on my skin at my fairest (now), and in the middle of summer when I am 3 foundation shades darker.

Nars in Orgasm – This blush is a love it or hate it type of item. The peachy pink shade appears a slightly more natural or sheer than some others swatched above, but then you notice the intense gold shimmer. This is another blush I wear mostly in the summer time, or for a night out due to the shimmer.

I am obviously a fan of peachy shades in terms of blush, I feel that they compliment my skin tone the best. What is your favourite blush? What makeup item would you like to see next?
