Hair Training

I’m sure we all know by now that washing your hair everyday is not good for it. However, up until the last month or two I continued to do it. I have always had oily hair, and I felt that washing my hair everyday was a necessity or else it as a greasy mess.
Washing your hair everyday strips your hair of its natural oils, and can also dry out your scalp. This in turn ques your scalp to produce more oil to replenish it. And viola, you have greasy hair again. I have written a post before on how irritated my scalp was, and how my hair was falling out more than it should have been. I now know this was also a contributing factor.
I finally bit the bullet, and have started ‘hair training’; forcing myself to wash my hair every two days (unless I had an important meeting or interview I had to look nice for), and my  hair looks and feels so much healthier.
It has been a rough road, and Batiste dry shampoo, and messy buns have become my best friends, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. My hair now almost makes it to the 48 hour mark before it really does need to be washed again. I’m hoping to eventually get it to 3 or 4 days between shampoos but that seems almost impossible with still being able to go out in public.
How many days between shampoos do you typically go?
