January Favourites | 2016

January was a whirlwind! Max and I both had birthdays, and I started back at classes. The year 2016 had a great start; leaps and bounds were made towards my goals this year. However, as I am typing this, I am home from school with no voice and an awful cough, and Max is home from preschool with the flu and a high fever. I am hoping we are both better soon (and I don’t get the flu to top off my cold) and that this is not an indication of how the rest of February is going to go.
The products that have received the most love this month are:
Peek Natural Stain Brow Powder in Expresso – This brow powder came in my January Ipsy bag and it is the perfect shade for my brows! I have been using this over my Anastasia Brow Whiz because it looks a bit more natural, yet perfectly fills in any sparse areas. I still love my brow whiz, but I definitely use it on days I want a stronger brow look.
Sephora Collection Small Contour Brush – I got this from my Dad and Step mom in a brush roll for Christmas. It fits perfectly in the hollows of my cheeks. It’s dense, but not too much so; it applies and blends out my contour perfectly. It is my favourite contour brush that I have ever used! Unfortunately, I cannot find it sold separately on Sephora’s website, but I’ve linked the brush roll I got it in.
Milani Baked Blush in 05 Luminoso – This blush is such a staple in my collection. I’ve been preferring a more bronzed look lately to make up for the fact that I’m super pale because it’s the middle of winter. I wear this glowy peach shade year-round and goes with every makeup look. It leaves you looking healthy and youthful.
Formula X Base Coat – I know I’ve mentioned this base coat before but it is just the best I’ve ever used. As it is quite a tacky product, my nail polish really adheres to it and doesn’t chip for much longer than when I use something else. For $13, it’s really not much more expensive than many at the drugstore, so I’d rather spend an extra $3-5 for something that works this well. I would like to try something new though, so leave any suggestions below!
Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion with Olive Oil – Quite the product name! Another great product that I got in my Ipsy bag in January. I have been dealing with major dry patches around my nose, and around my jawline. This moisturizer has made my skin feel a lot more comfortable. It is for normal to dry skin, so I will not get a lot of use out of this once the weather warms up again as I do have quite oily skin usually. It smells lovely, and is 100% natural.

What have you been loving over the past month?

Emily ♥
