NYX Blurscreen SPF 30 Primer
NEW NYX Blurscreen SPF 30 Primer. NYX Cosmetics have been killing it with the new releases lately. I’ve added so many of them onto my makeup wish list [cries in makeup low buy]. My number one primer need is to blur my enlarged pores so I was automatically intrigued. Add in super cute packaging, and SPF – I’m there! This is 3-in-1 blurring primer for up to 18h wear and helps protect skin with SPF 30 protection. I definitely recommend still applying your daily sunscreen underneath, but we love the added protection against the sun’s rays. This claims to blur and grip, protect all skin tones with no white cast…

e.l.f. Cosmetics has released a nourishing tinted lip oil with a high shine finish. “Drench your lips in this addictive, ultra-glossy color. The plush, oversized cushion applicator slicks on this nourishing oil to deliver a sheer wash of color to your pout. Available in 7 juicy shades.” The lip oil craze continues! I think this looks incredible, and I’m loving the $8 price point. They claim this is not sticky, is hydrating, and gives an ultra-glossy finish with a fresh minty scent. Ingredients to note are: Squalane, Apricot oil, Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, and Pomegranate oil. Which shade do you have your eye on? I’m liking Honey Talks, and Pink Quartz.…

Static Solutions
←←← This is me. The cold, dry winter air is killing my hair vibes this year! Today, I’m sharing a few easy fixes, to keep you from looking like you’ve just been electrocuted: Adding MoistureAs the main culprit to static is the dry air, both outdoors and inside, it’s important to add that moisture back. You can do this by switching your shampoo and conditioner to a more hydrating formula, or adding a leave-in product to your routine. Try: ArtNatural Shampoo + Conditioner ($23) or OGX Hydrating Tea Tree Mint Shampoo ($5.49) Dirty HairTrying washing your hair less often. Each time you shampoo, you’re stripping your hair of its natural…

Blurred, Not Bold
This beauty trend has been trying to gain traction for almost a year but I think I’m finally ready to hop on this train. It is the blurred, blotted, soft matte, stain effect lip. Could I have possibly used any more adjectives? The first of which I saw was from my fave – ColourPop with their Ultra Blotted Lip US$6 followed by the Blur Lux Lipstick US$7. Although I am partial to ColourPop because of their affordable prices and amazing shade ranges, many other brands have released products which will give you a similar effect on the lips at a variety of price points: NYX Powder Puff Lippie Powder Lip…

Logical Harmony is the world’s most trusted source for cruelty-free and vegan beauty as well as lifestyle products. Tashina dove in deep to discover the truth behind COVERGIRL’s new Cruelty-Free International certification. We are still waiting on COVERGIRL to release their vegan friendly products list to us. This may take some time, as they have to go through every ingredient,…

Review | Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation
The Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation was a product I was super excited to get my hands on the second in landed in Canada. I’ve been testing it for quite some time now and want to share my thoughts with you guys. Claims “Innovation: Our 1st gel-whipped foundation. Fresh, new and flawless… Dream Velvet whips a fresh gel into a velvet-soft texture. Complexion is perfected and smooth with a soft-matte finish, just like velvet. Skin feels fresh with lasting hydration.” Product Overview The packaging is basic but it works. I prefer my foundations to either have a pump, or be in a tube like this one is. I feel…

Winter Beauty Wishlist | 2016
These are the top five beauty items I’d like to add to my collection this season. The last few months, I’ve been really expanding my collection because of all the new launches. Just when I thought it was time to slow down, there were three launches I got super excited about, a skincare item with rave reviews I want to try for myself, and a recommended blush. My poor, poor wallet. LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation – There’s nothing I love more than discovering new affordable foundations. This has the stamp of approval from both Tati Westbrook and Kathleen Lights, both whose opinions I trust. My skin has been extremely…

Review | L’Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
The L’Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation has been floating around the beauty community for months! I bought it as soon as I saw it in Canadian drugstores, and have been loving it ever since. However, there are some drawbacks to keep in mind if you’re looking into purchasing it. Claims “It’s Your Go-To Foundation, To Go. An innovative microaerated cushion drenched in liquid foundation. Tap a little for a fresh natural glow or tap on more to build a new level of luminous coverage.” Product Overview Upon first glance you may feel that the packaging is too bulky, however the double closure is the perfect solution that…

Top 5 | Spring Polishes
[Clockwise from top centre: Bikini So Teeny, Lacey Lilac, Suzi Shops & Island Hops, Is Mai Tai Crooked?, Mellow Yellow] As the second installment in my Top 5 series, I wanted to share my favourite spring nail polishes. Missed my first post in the series? You can read it HERE. I love soft, pastel nails in the spring time. Though above the yellow and orange polishes look a bit deeper in tone, it must have been my lighting – apologies – in real life they are both muted pastel colours like the others. At work I am not allowed to have nail polish on so I haven’t swatched all of…
