Drugstore Haul | October 2015
Much like the items in my last haul, these have been waiting around for awhile. I’ve been picking these up here and there for the last month, and am pretty happy with the items I’ve used so far! The two nail polish purchases are heavily inspired by Kathleen Lights. OPI in It’s a Piazza Cake from the fall Venice collection is the nail polish version of Ofra liquid lipstick in Miami Fever, which I also have and love. Essie in Leggy Legend, also from their fall 2015 collection, is a beautiful metallic bronze with a bit of gold and green reflects. Both polishes are stunning for fall, and all I’ve…

Autumn Beauty Wishlist
These are the top five beauty items I’d like to add to my collection this season. The last few months, I’ve been focused on face and lip products and am pretty happy with my collection in those departments. This fall I’d like to add more eye products to my arsenal. Mac Warm Neutral Eyeshadow Palette – I don’t own any Mac shadows, but everyone says they’re amazing. I was going to build my own 15 pan palette, but it’s cheaper to buy the ready-made palette. Also, this warm neutral one has all the colours I love, there isn’t one I wouldn’t use. So yes, I’d be losing the customizability, but…

Skincare Overhaul | Part 2
Happy Saturday! It is finally time for the second installment of my skincare overhaul/ journey. You can read the first post here, where you can read more about my early years skincare woes, and gain a better understanding of the changes occurring. To recap slightly, after introducing the previous five skincare products into my routine, my skin was more oily, less dehydrated, mild milia, reduced scarring, reduced appearance of fine lines, when compared to before the start of this journey. Here are the next five products that have been added into my routine since my last post. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask – I have used this mask three…

Ipsy October 2015 Unboxing
This month’s theme is Alter Ego; Dare to be Different. The bag this month… I hate it. Is hate too strong a word? I strongly dislike this month’s bag. One side is a metallic gold, the other and patent leather looking black. It’s an odd shape to be useful. It feels cheap (more than usual), and plastic-y. I’m just not a fan. Emite Make Up Tweezers – I love getting tools in my Ipsy back, whether it’s a brush, or tweezers. These seem to be very good quality, they have a nice weight to them, and a sharp point. Everyone can use a good set of tweezers. The Balm Meet…

Sephora Haul | October 2015
These products have been sitting in a box, unopened for over a month because I usually wait until I have five new products to share. I know, that’s ridiculous, because then I don’t get to use my new products, but I’d like to take photos before they’re used. However, I couldn’t wait any longer to use the fall lip products! Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleanser – I needed something to spot clean my brushes, so I picked up this little spray bottle. It’s great for people like me that don’t have too many eye brushes, so I can easily switch colours. Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer – Casey Holmes…

September Favourites
September was a month of adjustments. I went back to university full-time for my fourth year. I have been juggling work, school, blog, and motherhood, all while remaining mostly sane! September has been a great month overall, I’ve discovered a ton of great products, my skin is mostly under control, knock on wood, and I’ve been killing the dark lip trend. September is my favourite month of the year, and am sad to say goodbye for another year, but with any luck October will be great too! Side note: I still need to decide on Halloween costumes for myself and Maxwell. Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion – This acid toner…

Review | COLAB Dry Shampoo
If you saw my most recent drugstore haul post, you’d know I decided to cheat on my beloved Batiste, and try a new dry shampoo. So I picked up the COLAB dry shampoo in Rio, which is in the tropical scent. Claims “Keep that clean hair feel for longer & instantly revitalise your look with COLAB’s ready-to-wear dry shampoo. It absorbs oil & refreshes roots with a residue-free, lightweight finish & leaves a veil of fashion fragrance.” Product Overview This is going to basically be a comparison to my favourite dry shampoo – Batiste. I would agree with the claims listed above, with the exception of oil absorption. It…

Ipsy September 2015 Unboxing
Sorry this post is coming later than usual, I just received my bag Friday and am just getting a chance to sit down and blog now. But hopefully you’re still interested in seeing what I got in my bag. This month’s theme is Face Fashion, with the beautiful Katy (LustreLux) on the front of the card. The bag is cute for fall. I love the textured front part, and the metallic finish. It’s also a good size, long enough to put in brushes for travelling. Trèstique Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude – This peach-y nude would look great on fair skin-tones. I haven’t tried it on yet, but it…

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Top: 15 Fair, Bottom: 10 Light The Maybelline Fit Me concealer has been my number one for under the eyes for a few months now, and I’m going to share my full thoughts on it with you today. This product is non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and fragrance-free. Claims “Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural” Product Overview This concealer has a light weight, blendable formula, never appearing cakey. It doesn’t crease if it is set with a powder. The finish is quite dewy on it’s own so this is another reason I set it with powder as I have oily skin and…
