• September Favourites

September was a month of adjustments. I went back to university full-time for my fourth year. I have been juggling work, school, blog, and motherhood, all while remaining mostly sane! September has been a great month overall, I’ve discovered a ton of great products, my skin is mostly under control, knock on wood, and I’ve been killing the dark lip trend. September is my favourite month of the year, and am sad to say goodbye for another year, but with any luck October will be great too! Side note: I still need to decide on Halloween costumes for myself and Maxwell. Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion – This acid toner…

  • Review | COLAB Dry Shampoo

If you saw my most recent drugstore haul post, you’d know I decided to cheat on my beloved Batiste, and try a new dry shampoo. So I picked up the COLAB dry shampoo in Rio, which is in the tropical scent. Claims “Keep that clean hair feel for longer & instantly revitalise your look with COLAB’s ready-to-wear dry shampoo. It absorbs oil & refreshes roots with a residue-free, lightweight finish & leaves a veil of fashion fragrance.” Product Overview This is going to basically be a comparison to my favourite dry shampoo – Batiste.   I would agree with the claims listed above, with the exception of oil absorption. It…

  • Autumn Style Wishlist

After looking through my closet, and watching a ton of fall fashion haul on YouTube, I have come up with the top 5 items I would like to add to my wardrobe this season. Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Watch – This watch is classic, and not too flashy. I love the rose gold, simple face, and black leather strap. A watch of this style and quality would work for me for many years so it’s worth the splurge. Zara Riding Boot in Taupe – Casey Holmes hauled these boots and I fell in love. I have wanted a flat riding boot for awhile, but haven’t found a pair that I…

  • Ipsy September 2015 Unboxing

Sorry this post is coming later than usual, I just received my bag Friday and am just getting a chance to sit down and blog now. But hopefully you’re still interested in seeing what I got in my bag. This month’s theme is Face Fashion, with the beautiful Katy (LustreLux) on the front of the card. The bag is cute for fall. I love the textured front part, and the metallic finish. It’s also a good size, long enough to put in brushes for travelling. Trèstique Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude – This peach-y nude would look great on fair skin-tones. I haven’t tried it on yet, but it…

  • Review | Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Top: 15 Fair, Bottom: 10 Light   The Maybelline Fit Me concealer has been my number one for under the eyes for a few months now, and I’m going to share my full thoughts on it with you today. This product is non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and fragrance-free. Claims “Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural” Product Overview   This concealer has a light weight, blendable formula, never appearing cakey. It doesn’t crease if it is set with a powder. The finish is quite dewy on it’s own so this is another reason I set it with powder as I have oily skin and…

  • Drugstore Haul | September 2015

It has been over a month since my last haul post, so I thought it was about time to share with you what I’ve been picking up from the drugstore since then. I have also discovered, in the back of my closet, a couple new photo backdrops, please let me know what you think of this one in the comments. Revlon Nail Polish in 725 Provocative – I love the formula of these polishes, and didn’t have a orange-y red (more orange) in my collection. This polish is kind of like my last tribute to summer, and have been wearing it as much as possible until breaking out the dark…

  • Review | OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner

Here is a quick review on the OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are sulfate free, not tested on animals, and the packaging is eco-friendly. Claims ‘Drench your dehydrated strands in this ultra-light blend of weightless hydrating coconut water, supercharged with nutrient rich electrolytes and combined with coconut oil to transform dry, parched hair into silky shiny perfection.’ My Hair I believe knowing about my particular hair, will make this review more relevant to you. If your hair is unlike mine, this product may work differently for you. My hair is quite oily, colour treated through the ends. It is fine, yet there is a lot…

  • Empties | Products I’ve Used Up | 3

Since my last empties post, I’ve decided to try to do one monthly, if I have enough products to share with you. Skincare Lush Tea Tree Water Toner – I only used about 2/3 of this product, but it has expired. I thought this was a great toner for my acne prone skin, but not for everyday as it can be a bit drying. I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon as I’m trying out a few others. The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask – Another product I didn’t get to finish completely, but it has dried up. It was time for it to go anyway because I’ve had it…

  • August Favourites

Although I am sad to see summer go, I am so excited for fall. September is my favourite month of the year. Growing up, it was always exciting getting all your new school stuff, signifying a new ‘year’! This will (hopefully) be my last year in school, I am off to finish the 4th year of my degree, and can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Even next year, September will continue to be an exciting time as Maxwell will be headed off to Elementary school. Yikes! Let’s move onto the products I’ve been loving in August before I get all sentimental, shall we: Pur~lisse Pur~delicate Gentle…

  • Drugstore Back To School Makeup #MOTD

School is right around the corner! Today I’m sharing with you the drugstore products I would wear to class on a daily basis. I am using all drugstore products, because more students are on a tight budget, than not. Also, these products are all low maintenance throughout the day, and provide easy application and blending as well. Face: L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in 103 Natural Buff – This demi-matte foundation is my favourite foundation in the drugstore. It is long lasting and provides medium coverage, perfect for school days. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in 60 Brightener – Up late studying? The peachy tint of this concealer covers your dark…
