  • October Favourites

October was a very stressful month for me and I’m glad it’s over. However, this month ended on a good note with Halloween. I’m not super into Halloween but I always enjoy getting Maxwell ready in his costume, and going trick-or-treating with him. You can see his costume on my Instagram (@emilynmax, links in the sidebar). I didn’t dress up this year, but let me know in the comments what you went as if you dressed up. Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo – This dry shampoo has quickly become a favourite. I find myself reaching for this over my Batiste almost every time. It is more lightweight than Batiste; I cannot…

  • Drugstore Haul | October 2015

Much like the items in my last haul, these have been waiting around for awhile. I’ve been picking these up here and there for the last month, and am pretty happy with the items I’ve used so far! The two nail polish purchases are heavily inspired by Kathleen Lights. OPI in It’s a Piazza Cake from the fall Venice collection is the nail polish version of Ofra liquid lipstick in Miami Fever, which I also have and love. Essie in Leggy Legend, also from their fall 2015 collection, is a beautiful metallic bronze with a bit of gold and green reflects. Both polishes are stunning for fall, and all I’ve…

  • Review | COLAB Dry Shampoo

If you saw my most recent drugstore haul post, you’d know I decided to cheat on my beloved Batiste, and try a new dry shampoo. So I picked up the COLAB dry shampoo in Rio, which is in the tropical scent. Claims “Keep that clean hair feel for longer & instantly revitalise your look with COLAB’s ready-to-wear dry shampoo. It absorbs oil & refreshes roots with a residue-free, lightweight finish & leaves a veil of fashion fragrance.” Product Overview This is going to basically be a comparison to my favourite dry shampoo – Batiste.   I would agree with the claims listed above, with the exception of oil absorption. It…

  • Review | OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner

Here is a quick review on the OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are sulfate free, not tested on animals, and the packaging is eco-friendly. Claims ‘Drench your dehydrated strands in this ultra-light blend of weightless hydrating coconut water, supercharged with nutrient rich electrolytes and combined with coconut oil to transform dry, parched hair into silky shiny perfection.’ My Hair I believe knowing about my particular hair, will make this review more relevant to you. If your hair is unlike mine, this product may work differently for you. My hair is quite oily, colour treated through the ends. It is fine, yet there is a lot…

  • New Goodies | Drugstore and Sephora Haul

Happy Saturday! This month has been a spendy one! I have a few packages en route still, so expect another haul post soon. If hauls aren’t your thing – don’t worry I also have a few reviews in the works. Batiste Dry Shampoo – This time I purchased my favourite dry shampoo in the Original scent. The Wild scent is still my favourite, but this one is probably runner up. I usually buy Batiste at Marshalls to get it a bit cheaper. Formula X Base Coat – I had run out of my previous base coat, which is shown in my latest empties post. I’ve heard good things about this…

  • Empties | Products I’ve Used Up | 2

Remember in my first empties post when I said it would be too daunting to do a huge post? He he whoops! Here we go! Skincare Aveeno Fresh Essentials Anti-Fatigue Eye Roller – Reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles. The metal roller felt amazing under the eyes in the mornings. Though this was only a sample, it lasted for ages. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for something cooling and depuffing in the morning. Clearasil Daily Clear Daily Pore Cleansing Pads – I used these as my acid tone step in my skin care. It was too strong (2% salicylic acid) for everyday on my sensitive skin. It…

  • Ipsy July 2015 Unboxing

Hey Guys! Sorry for the lack of posts, time is in high demand lately, more so than usual it seems. I have a TON of posts planned (I’m literally on July 5 of my ‘blog schedule’ yikes), I am now waiting for the weather to be a bit better so I can get better quality photos with the natural sunlight, hopefully tomorrow! For now, I’d like to share with you what I got in my July Ipsy bag.   This month’s theme was Summer Lovin’. I feel that the products I got really do embody the summer theme well. The bag is pretty cute as well, I love the bright…

  • Review | Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Frizz Defy

I’ve been using this hair oil for about two months, and I thought I’d share my opinion. To start, the packaging is quite nice. I love the bright orange bottle (it’s my favourite colour), and the pump gives the perfect amount of product to where it doesn’t leave your hair greasy with one pump. The bottle is made from a thin(ish) plastic, and I feel that if you dropped it from any height, it may crack open – now that would be an awful mess! This product claims to be a “treatment for frizzy, unruly hair, with custom-blended Amla & Jojoba oil, smooths and tames frizz.”   Now, my hair…

  • Review | Pantene Pro-V Root Reboot Dry Shampoo

Last night I had a product review post just about ready to publish, finishing up the links etc. when I came across an announcement (or whatever you’d like to call it), stating that the product had just been discontinued. Dammit!! I didn’t see the point in doing a post on something that will no longer be available once the shelves clear. So, sorry for the lack of a weekend post this past weekend, but here’s a bit of a replacement review for you. Today I’m talking about the Pantene Pro-V Root Reboot Dry Shampoo. I’ve had this product for many months now, just trying to love it, but I can’t…

  • Ipsy May 2015 Unboxing

I’ve only been subscribed to Ipsy for a few months, I wrote a post on the first one I received in February. In that post I also go over the details of the subscription, so if you’re not sure about pricing etc. go on over to check that out. The theme for this months bag is Jetsetter. First off, can we talk about how cute this makeup bag is this month? I cannot wait to carry this around in my purse with me! It reads: ‘Contents: My Life. Breakups to Makeup’. Love it. This bag is also a different shape from the others I’ve received, it’s almost square, whereas the…
