Skincare Overhaul | Part 2
Happy Saturday! It is finally time for the second installment of my skincare overhaul/ journey. You can read the first post here, where you can read more about my early years skincare woes, and gain a better understanding of the changes occurring. To recap slightly, after introducing the previous five skincare products into my routine, my skin was more oily, less dehydrated, mild milia, reduced scarring, reduced appearance of fine lines, when compared to before the start of this journey. Here are the next five products that have been added into my routine since my last post. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask – I have used this mask three…

Ipsy October 2015 Unboxing
This month’s theme is Alter Ego; Dare to be Different. The bag this month… I hate it. Is hate too strong a word? I strongly dislike this month’s bag. One side is a metallic gold, the other and patent leather looking black. It’s an odd shape to be useful. It feels cheap (more than usual), and plastic-y. I’m just not a fan. Emite Make Up Tweezers – I love getting tools in my Ipsy back, whether it’s a brush, or tweezers. These seem to be very good quality, they have a nice weight to them, and a sharp point. Everyone can use a good set of tweezers. The Balm Meet…

September Favourites
September was a month of adjustments. I went back to university full-time for my fourth year. I have been juggling work, school, blog, and motherhood, all while remaining mostly sane! September has been a great month overall, I’ve discovered a ton of great products, my skin is mostly under control, knock on wood, and I’ve been killing the dark lip trend. September is my favourite month of the year, and am sad to say goodbye for another year, but with any luck October will be great too! Side note: I still need to decide on Halloween costumes for myself and Maxwell. Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion – This acid toner…

Empties | Products I’ve Used Up | 3
Since my last empties post, I’ve decided to try to do one monthly, if I have enough products to share with you. Skincare Lush Tea Tree Water Toner – I only used about 2/3 of this product, but it has expired. I thought this was a great toner for my acne prone skin, but not for everyday as it can be a bit drying. I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon as I’m trying out a few others. The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask – Another product I didn’t get to finish completely, but it has dried up. It was time for it to go anyway because I’ve had it…

August Favourites
Although I am sad to see summer go, I am so excited for fall. September is my favourite month of the year. Growing up, it was always exciting getting all your new school stuff, signifying a new ‘year’! This will (hopefully) be my last year in school, I am off to finish the 4th year of my degree, and can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Even next year, September will continue to be an exciting time as Maxwell will be headed off to Elementary school. Yikes! Let’s move onto the products I’ve been loving in August before I get all sentimental, shall we: Pur~lisse Pur~delicate Gentle…

Ipsy August 2015 Unboxing
Hey Guys! Is it just me, or did Ipsy show up a bit earlier this month? This months theme is Prep School. I cannot believe back to school is right around the corner! As always, let’s start with the bag. I’m not a fan. I don’t like the houndstooth and hot pink combination, and the geometric texture is strange. Also, I cannot even identify the material this is made from, something plastic-y. But it’s what’s inside that counts so, moving on from the negative: Albertini International Divine Skin Hydrator – This in shower body moisturizer is unscented, and I feel it will be perfect in the winter when my skin…

Empties | Products I’ve Used Up | 2
Remember in my first empties post when I said it would be too daunting to do a huge post? He he whoops! Here we go! Skincare Aveeno Fresh Essentials Anti-Fatigue Eye Roller – Reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles. The metal roller felt amazing under the eyes in the mornings. Though this was only a sample, it lasted for ages. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for something cooling and depuffing in the morning. Clearasil Daily Clear Daily Pore Cleansing Pads – I used these as my acid tone step in my skin care. It was too strong (2% salicylic acid) for everyday on my sensitive skin. It…

July Favourites
I’ve decided to try and do monthly favourites instead of seasonal favourites as I’ve done in the past. Let me know what you think! Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic – I have done a full reviewed this product here earlier this month. This is a lovely, hydrating toner. It has calmed my redness, and is refreshing to spritz on hot summer days! Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – I still prefer bristle wands over plastic ones, but this is a fabulous mascara. I find it to be volumizing and lengthening. Some times it is a bit hard to work with because the formula is so wet, but the end result is worth…

Summer Beauty Wishlist
These beauty items have been at the top of my ‘to-buy’ list for quite some time now, I just haven’t bitten the bullet yet. Too Faced Semisweet Chocolate Bar Palette – This palette is beautiful! I’m especially excited for the Peanut Butter shade to the right of the blue. Shockingly, this will be my first highend eyeshadow palette – I know – I’m behind on the times! I just feel like it’s more of an investment so I thought long and hard on which one I wanted. Mac Lipstick in Plumful – Described as a blossoming rose-plum. Though this isn’t an overly summery shade, I think this will be a…

Skincare Overhaul
Hey Guys! I’d like to take you on this skincare overhaul/ journey with me. My skin has always been problematic, starting when I was 11 years old. It has changed many times over the years. I’d think I found a holy grail skincare item, and then my skin would do a 180 on me. It has not always been due to seasonal changes either as it doesn’t always return to ‘normal’ when the seasons changed back. Before re-vamping my skincare routine, my skin was/had: combination/oily dehydrated sensitive cystic acne dark scarring ‘dented’ scarring beginning signs of ageing around eyes and forehead In my mind, the first steps were to get…
