  • January Ipsy Bag | 2017

The first Ipsy bag of 2017. I was expecting another knock-out bag, but this month left me wanting more. The theme this month is Metropolis. I love the sporty vibe of the bag this month, the metallic mesh overlay reminds me of the 90s for some reason. Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Mask – I love a good deep cleansing mask once a week, more if I’m breaking out really bad. This claims to draw out dirt and impurities, peel away dead skin cells, restore elasticity, and fortify with essential moisturizers. It’s strange for this type of mask to claim to be moisturizing, so I’m excited to give this a…

  • December Ipsy Bag | 2016

The last Ipsy bag of the year. Ironically, the last Ipsy post on this blog was the first bag of the year. This month’s theme is ‘carpe p.m.’, a clever play on words. As loud and not me this month’s bag is – I kind of love it! It would be a great party clutch if you were in a pinch. It’s texture reminds me of faux pony hair, like that on leopard print shoes. Benefit POREfessional Primer – This is one of my favourite pore filling primers. It provides a smoother base to apply foundation. Having a sample size will be great for if I travel anywhere. Nip +…

  • January Favourites | 2016

January was a whirlwind! Max and I both had birthdays, and I started back at classes. The year 2016 had a great start; leaps and bounds were made towards my goals this year. However, as I am typing this, I am home from school with no voice and an awful cough, and Max is home from preschool with the flu and a high fever. I am hoping we are both better soon (and I don’t get the flu to top off my cold) and that this is not an indication of how the rest of February is going to go. The products that have received the most love this…

The first Ipsy of the year! This month’s theme is ‘All Eyes on You’. This is the first time in a while that I’ve actually liked the bag. It’s a great wipe-able material, and I love the colourful retro print on it. It will definitely be going into my purse. The Balm Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner in Jac – This is a pretty bronze colour, but I went to swatch it on my hand, didn’t even apply pressure yet and the tip broke off. Obviously it will still work, but I was excited about it, now not so much. Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion with Olive Oil…

This months theme is Beauty Blast; The Stars Are Aligning. I personally am not a fan of the bag again this month. But, Maxwell was super excited when he saw it because it’s outer space. So I’m sure it will be used in some form. Luxie Eye Shadow Pan in 290 – This is not very pigmented, doesn’t swatch well, and is very hard in the pan. It is a matte aubergine color. I wish this wasn’t just the pan as well. Personally, my Z palettes are full, and am not going to buy another. Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara – I haven’t heard too much about this mascara. I’m not…

This month’s theme is Alter Ego; Dare to be Different. The bag this month… I hate it. Is hate too strong a word? I strongly dislike this month’s bag. One side is a metallic gold, the other and patent leather looking black. It’s an odd shape to be useful. It feels cheap (more than usual), and plastic-y. I’m just not a fan. Emite Make Up Tweezers – I love getting tools in my Ipsy back, whether it’s a brush, or tweezers. These seem to be very good quality, they have a nice weight to them, and a sharp point. Everyone can use a good set of tweezers. The Balm Meet…

  • Ipsy September 2015 Unboxing

Sorry this post is coming later than usual, I just received my bag Friday and am just getting a chance to sit down and blog now. But hopefully you’re still interested in seeing what I got in my bag. This month’s theme is Face Fashion, with the beautiful Katy (LustreLux) on the front of the card. The bag is cute for fall. I love the textured front part, and the metallic finish. It’s also a good size, long enough to put in brushes for travelling. Trèstique Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude – This peach-y nude would look great on fair skin-tones. I haven’t tried it on yet, but it…

  • August Favourites

Although I am sad to see summer go, I am so excited for fall. September is my favourite month of the year. Growing up, it was always exciting getting all your new school stuff, signifying a new ‘year’! This will (hopefully) be my last year in school, I am off to finish the 4th year of my degree, and can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Even next year, September will continue to be an exciting time as Maxwell will be headed off to Elementary school. Yikes! Let’s move onto the products I’ve been loving in August before I get all sentimental, shall we: Pur~lisse Pur~delicate Gentle…

  • Ipsy August 2015 Unboxing

Hey Guys! Is it just me, or did Ipsy show up a bit earlier this month?  This months theme is Prep School. I cannot believe back to school is right around the corner! As always, let’s start with the bag. I’m not a fan. I don’t like the houndstooth and hot pink combination, and the geometric texture is strange. Also, I cannot even identify the material this is made from, something plastic-y. But it’s what’s inside that counts so, moving on from the negative: Albertini International Divine Skin Hydrator – This in shower body moisturizer is unscented, and I feel it will be perfect in the winter when my skin…

  • Ipsy July 2015 Unboxing

Hey Guys! Sorry for the lack of posts, time is in high demand lately, more so than usual it seems. I have a TON of posts planned (I’m literally on July 5 of my ‘blog schedule’ yikes), I am now waiting for the weather to be a bit better so I can get better quality photos with the natural sunlight, hopefully tomorrow! For now, I’d like to share with you what I got in my July Ipsy bag.   This month’s theme was Summer Lovin’. I feel that the products I got really do embody the summer theme well. The bag is pretty cute as well, I love the bright…
